Membership Requirements For the safety of your dog, a basic level of obstacle proficiency is required before becoming a member of K-9’s in Motion. Proficiency will be determined by class performance or by demonstrating basic skills for a staff member at application. Membership Guidelines K-9’s in Motion was designed to be a first-class practice facility for Kansas City area agility enthusiasts. Our goal is to provide members with an optimal practice environment while keeping dues as affordable as possible. Therefore, we ask your cooperation in observing the following guidelines: 1. You MUST pick up after your dog inside and outside the building. There is green space around the parking lot where you can potty your dog before you come inside. Please use the outside trashcan next to the door for dog waste. If your dog eliminates inside the building, cleaning supplies are provided. Use the outside trashcan to dispose of paper towels used for cleaning up after dogs. 2. Keep your dog under control and on a leash when you are not on the course. 3. Keep interaction between dogs to a minimum. 4. If you have a bitch in season, please leave her at home. 5. Soft soled shoes only are allowed on the mats. If outside conditions cause shoes to track (rain, mud, snow, salt, sand, etc), please bring clean shoes to wear while you practice. We love our mats and they were very expensive. Help us keep them in good condition. 6. An agility waiver must be signed and on file prior to use of any of the agility equipment. **Please see Amanda or Cassie if you have not signed one.** 7. Please do not adjust the thermostats. If you feel the current settings are not adequate, please contact Amanda or Cassie. 8. Please turn off lights when leaving the building. If they have just been turned off, at least five minutes has to elapse before they can be turned back on. 9. Do not unlock the solid gray door next to the bay door. It is for emergency use only. 10. If you bring a guest to practice with you, they must pay the walk-in fee of $15. A lock box is provided for payment. 11. Please do not move the dog walk or A-frame. If you would like a special configuration, let us know. 12. Please be respectful of other members by taking turns and not monopolizing equipment. During peak practice times, it will be necessary to limit turns to 2 minutes. 13. Members are welcome to leave a crate at the facility. However, if you do, you agree to allow others to use your crate when you are not there. If you do not want to share your crate, please take it with you when you leave. 14. Classes will be held at the facility a few hours each week. During class times, the ring will not be available for practice. Class times will be posted at the facility and on the website. Please check the schedule when making your practice plans. 15. No smoking is allowed in the parking lot or building. 16. Do not allow children or dogs to run or be disruptive while at the facility. 17. There will be no teaching of classes or private lessons by members at the facility without the express permission of K-9’s in Motion. 18. Keep a positive outlook about the facility and other members. It will take the cooperation of ALL members to make the practice arrangement successful. However, if you have a concern or constructive suggestion, please let Amanda or Cassie know. 19. Please report damages immediately. We can be reached at 816-824-5667. Membership Fees Monthly Membership - $75 3 Month Membership - $195 ($65/month) 6 Month Membership - $360 ($60/month) An initiation fee of $25 will be charged at application to cover the cost of setting up and administering your account, and to cover the cost of the magnetic key fob you will be issued for entry to the building. If your membership lapses for more than 3 months, you will be re-assessed the $25 fee to re-join. Family memberships are available for an additional $10 per month. This entitles two handlers from the same household to use the facility. Initially, the number of memberships will be limited to 50 in order to help us determine the optimal number of members the facility can support. Once the initial 50 memberships have been filled, prospective new members will be placed on a waiting list. Members who allow their memberships to lapse and later decide to re-join will have to wait for an opening to become available. Additional memberships may become available at a later date if management feels they can be accommodated. For Your Safety and Convenience Please use caution and common sense when using the facility. We suggest you bring a cell phone with you when you practice in case you need help for you or your dog. K-9’s in Motion is equipped with an electronic monitoring system for the security of our members.
